Professional design offices create schools that are not ordinary at all, with a strong emphasis on appearance in addition to practicality. Akademeia High School | Warsaw, Poland

There is growing criticism of knowledge-based education systems, but there is less talk that reforms are worth starting with rethinking the teaching environment first. In the case of the Akademeia High School in Warsaw, the building has already been designed by the Medusa Group team for modern educational principles in groups: both teachers and students can feel at home in the open spaces.

Csermák Antal Music School | Veszprém, Hungary

The house, originally built as a barracks, has been expanded several times over the years, to the detriment of its aesthetic, unifying look and proper use. Although the institution was renovated from the outside, the results of the internal renovation work were presented in December by Rita Madarasi-Papp of the i-quadrat architectural firm.

Žnjan-Pazdigrad Primary School | Split, Croatia

Žnjan Pazdigrad is a part of the city of Split, which has been transformed from a land used for agricultural purposes into a populated residential area. As there are no public spaces in the area where events can be held, the new, yet friendly school created by the x3m architecture studio serves not only as an educational institution but also as a community space.

Elementary School Vřesovice | Vřesovice, Czech Republic

Thanks to a partnership between fuuze and Public Atelier, a parish and rectory have been transformed into a primary school in this complex in Vřesovice. The robust columns, as well as the wide windows, are complemented by colorful elements. With common rooms and a gym, it combines the restraint of contemporary architecture and with the splendor of the Baroque style.

School Complex Gloggnitz | Gloggnitz, Austria

Gloggnitz is a town of only 6,000 people in Austria, 80 km from Vienna. The village center is constantly struggling with desolation and isolation, so the designers of Dietmar Feichtinger Architectes have dreamed up a new, complex educational center to replace the three main educational institutions in the village, bringing the spaces to life again!
