Oriental-inspired Pink Moon rug by Wendy Morrison at S/ALON BUDAPEST

This year, the S/ALON BUDAPEST Interior Design Fair will take place between 24-26 September, transforming the Budapest Arena again into a contiguous exhibition space for three days. Visitors will get to admire one of Wendy Morrison’s stunning creations, the Pink Moon, which the Scottish artist offered to the winning entry in the S/ALON BUDAPEST design competition.

After visiting a Scottish rug manufacturer following her years freelancing in fashion, Wendy Morrison fell in love with the wonderful world of carpets and yarns. While Scotland undoubtedly made an impression on her art, she found her true inspiration in the historical cultures of the East. Her exotic patterns and vibrant tones are set in hand-tufting Nepalese rugs, bringing pieces to life whose space-organizing power is undeniable. This year, S/ALON BUDAPEST’s design competition revolved around maximalist carpets, and the competition received a great number of innovative applications. Morrison selected Zestilo’s entry as the winner; so that the interior design studio will incorporate her Pink Moon carpet into their interior design.

Design enthusiasts can admire Pink Moon and the interior designed by Zestilo at the S/ALON Budapest Lakástrend Exhibition between 24 and 26 September.
