A new centre for design and innovation called the Public Room was opened in Skopje. The space is very urban and innovative, and offers freedom, creativity, originality, and metaphorically is called “Berlin in Skopje”. This very new and contemporary space is expected to be the cradle of creative industries in the country and the region.
Balkan design network announced the competition Young Balkan Designers 2015 – Common Grounds. The competition is open until February 28, 2015 and is intended for young designers up to 35 years from the following countries: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia and Turkey.
Students Center in Zagreb (Croatia) has been a vibrant vein of urban culture and meeting point for students, artists and intellectuals for several decades. It is situated in city’s broader center, around the spatially very important area, which also hosts the Museum of Technical Sciences as well as the Sports Center Dražen Petrović dedicated to Croatia’s most renowned basketball player.
