Apple takes a big leap with its new Self Service Repair program

Significant changes are underway at the tech giant. The company will now allow customers to repair their own devices without losing their warranty.

Apple first started selling parts and kits with instructions on how to repair their products to independent, unofficial service providers in 2019. The right to repair will now be available to all users through the Self Service Repair program. The program will start next year and will first be available to customers in the United States, with kits and parts containing instruction manuals for repairing iPhone and Mac models.
