BEST OF HIGHLIGHTS | That first year

In the life of every project, the first year starts with excitement, difficulties, and if all goes well, it ends with success. Amid the hardships of 2020, the HIGHLIGHTS article series has shown reliable continuity since the release of the first installment on February 7, 2020—a full year ago.

HIGHLIGHTS is HYPEANDHYPER magazine’s only series of articles, orbiting the Earth and paying close attention to all the active designers of the world. As its name suggests, it guides its readers and shines a spotlight on selected projects. Week by week, it provides an insight into the creative energies shared on Behance and other surfaces, as a treat for those who want to feast their eyes on something, marveling at the most beautiful, most exciting projects. Behind the HIGHLIGHTS series are design theorist Kitti Mayer and graphic designer Márk Gelley, who were carefully selecting and interpreting worthwhile projects for every Sunday, dosing them like pills of a creative medicine.

As creators often do when reaching an important milestone of any project, we now stop and look back on the past year. In our current selection, we won’t add to this year’s list but select items from it, presenting our personal favorites. Once again, we invite the readers on a journey around the Earth, re-showcasing the best and most beautiful projects of 2020 in 10+1 categories.

Have fun!
