Disassembling for sustainability | IKEA

IKEA has announced that by 2030, in addition to the assembly guide, all of their products will come with disassembly guides as well. The goal is to make a sustainable lifestyle accessible and affordable.

“Our disassembly Instructions is one of the ways we’re building on our commitment to sustainability,” comments IKEA. “No matter whether you’re moving home, giving your furniture away, or selling it. Taking it apart correctly reduces the risk of damage, and reduces its impact on the environment.”

They have already published instructions for their best-known products: the BILLY bookshelf, the BRIMNES bed, the LYCKSELE sofa bed, the MALM desk, the PAX wardrobe, and the POÄNG chair can now be disassembled professionally!
