Knowledge sharing and Lake Balaton: the first TEDxBalaton begins

On the 10th of September, the first TEDxBalaton conference will be held, where topics such as sustainability, future transportation, technological developments, and inspiring human life stories will be discussed.

The discussions will be specific to Lake Balaton, yet their impact and insights will be globally relevant. The organizers, Krisztina Sághy and Imre Végvári have combined two of their passions, sharing knowledge and Lake Balaton, but the event will also feature a culinary program and a beach photography exhibition by VJ FORTEPAN.

We believe that there are more and more of us at Lake Balaton—living there full time, part-time, or during holidays—who would like to engage in a dialogue or cultural exchange. And so we launched the project, got the TEDxBalaton license and the support of the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture. We are thinking long term. We want to create a platform that will become bigger and more productive over time”, Kriszta explained.

“I think Lake Balaton has everything it takes to live a full life but lacks an organized, intellectual buzz. There are smaller circles, tighter communities, but we want a platform to bring it all together,” Imre added.

TEDxBalaton is made possible with the support of the Veszprém-Balaton European Capital of Culture 2023 program.
