Panoramic villa built in Croatia from the stones of the Vis island

Rogač House, built on the Croatian Vis island, evokes the atmosphere of a cave-like shelter and a panoramic villa at the same time.

The stone house was designed as a dwelling by Studio Archaos in Split, on the Vis island. Both in its use of materials and in its design, the building reflects the characteristics of the site: its diagonal roof structure rhymes with the steep plot on which it’s built, while the proportions, fenestration and materials of the building evoke the silhouette of the nearby Perasti tower. The house is surrounded by carob trees over a hundred years old, and its windows overlook to the Dalmatian islands.
