The MINI STRIP model is a co-creation of the popular British car brand and fashion designer Paul Smith: a stripped-down electric car that contains only the bare essentials. According to Paul Smith, STRIP is not a fashion statement, but an example of collective thinking on sustainability.
The design process began by literally stripping the MINI electric down to its structural essence, only the vital elements remained. The bodywork was deliberately left unfinished, leaving grinding marks on the steel parts uncovered, and only a layer of anti-corrosion paint was applied. The screws are also visible to make the car as easy to repair as possible. The raw aesthetics of the MINI STRIP are further defined by recycled cork, plexiglass and upholstery.
