Zlin Design Week Conference launches soon

Intriguing speakers and inspiring presentations await participants at the Czech Zlin Design Week conference on 9 May 2022. This year’s motto of the conference: DESIGN THAT HELPS.

In recent years, ZDW conferences have mainly been focusing on the relations between design and marketing, but this year, environmental effects of human needs, demands and products will be observed. Presenters include the director of the Helen Gamlyn Centre for Design and one of the innovative figures of inclusive design, Rama Gherrawo and Mariana Chytilová, who’s also a researcher in the field of  availability and inclusive design. The conference will be held in Zlín, with the cooperation of Design and Architecture Norway and Creative Prague and the support of EHP and Norwegian EEA foundations.

A design that helps and exists for everyone. That’s the best way to describe this year’s ZDW conference, which is really for everyone. It will be open to people with reduced mobility and the hearing impaired, who will be offered sign language interpretation,” Iveta Klúčiková, one of the organizers pointed out.

Zlin Design Week takes place between 6 and 13 May including a conference, exhibitions and other activities. First-round ticket sales are open until 30 March here.
