On 20 April, the Budapest Metropolitan Government Office approved the plans of the new city center in Zugló, created by Zaha Hadid Architects. New public spaces, parks, restaurants, stores, apartments, offices, a new clinic and a town hall will be built.

“The project will create one of Pest’s greenest and most sustainable neighborhoods, organically linked to the Rákos stream area, with a harmonious mix of green spaces and the community spaces we are building. The area will accommodate retail, office, residential and leisure activities. The new district will incorporate the traditions of Budapest as well as the latest technological solutions,” says Gianluca Racana, director of ZHA to the questions of Építészfórum (Architects’ Forum).
