These two fire stations are just like the landscape surrounding them: there’s nothing superfluous or ostentatious about them, yet they still face eternity majestically.
Italian Pedevilla Architects designed a fire station in Viersach, South Tyrol and Taufers situated in Northern Italy. The designers put simplicity and reflecting on the landscape into the focus in all of their projects, and this is especially true for these two buildings.
Being completely free from any decoration, both fire stations stand as homogenous blocks amongst the mountains. One of them draws attention with its vibrant, almost golden yellow color, while the other warms up the landscape with its rose-tinted hues, yet they still don’t stand out somehow: with their monolithic mass, it’s as if they had been standing there forever, just like the mountains.
