World-renowned architect Richard Rogers, considered a pioneer of high-tech architecture, has passed away on Saturday at the age of 88.

Born into a British-Italian family, the architect collaborated with Renzo Piano to design the Centre Pompidou in Paris, one of the most iconic buildings of the century, inaugurated in 1977. Among his other projects are the World Trade Center No. 3 in New York, the Millennium Dome in London and Lloyd’s tower block.
