Alexander Bronfer hosszú éveken át fényképezte a Holt-tenger nyugati partját, hogy megmutassa a hely varázslatos, egyszerre békés és nyugtalanító atmoszféráját.
Bronfer a mai Ukrajna területén, a Szovjetunióban született és Szentpéterváron tanult, majd a diploma megszerzése után néhány évig Litvániában dolgozott, mielőtt Izraelbe költözött volna. Itt szeretett bele a Holt-tenger vidékébe.
