The most exciting international and Hungarian contemporary blues artists to perform in Veszprém

Between April 13 and 16, Grammy and Blues Award-winning stars and Hungarian musicians will perform more than 50 concerts over four days in Veszprém as part of the European Year of Culture.

Ian Siegal

The Veszprém Blues Festival not only pays homage to the tradition of a great genre but also introduces the audience to the vitality and power of contemporary blues music. Like most of the headliners, Britain’s number one blues export Ian Siegal will play several concerts, and one of the favorite artists of the Hungarian blues scene in the 1990s, the Greek Blues Wire, will take the stage in an original line-up. Multi-Grammy winning accordionist Sugar Blue, who went platinum with the Rolling Stones, Rick Estrin, who has become one of the icons of contemporary blues with his unique vocal and harmonica playing, and guitarist Matt Schofield, who reformed the British blues tradition, Hungarian audience favorite Big Daddy Wilson, and one of the genre’s greatest promises, Buffalo Nichols, will be joined by a number of other key figures from the blues scene, along with educational supporting programs and professional workshops.
