BOTANIQ Castle of Tura becomes the region’s first Krug Ambassade

The iconic champagne house Maison Krug’s Global Ambassade programme has attracted 184 members worldwide over the years, and now the Castle of Tura has joined the family. For the first time in Central and Eastern Europe, the champagne house hosted the Krug x Lemon event in Hungary, where they presented the basic ingredient of the year, the lemon, through a unique menu.

Thanks to the partnership with Moët Hennessy, BOTANIQ will offer a unique Krug range in the region, with exclusive access to the entire product portfolio. Guests can now taste the world’s finest champagnes in Hungary, and the house’s flagship Grande Cuvée is always available by the glass.

In addition to the champagne selection, guests visiting the chateau can also choose from 19 rooms in the Krug Suite, where the interior is designed following the brand’s character.

“Krug Ambassade is a network of trusted partners, who embody the Krug spirit, and who are the direct extensions of the Maison on the local markets. The motto of Krug Ambassades is: more than places, they are faces. Meaning that we are not only seeking for partners who share our vision for excellence, but as well for Krug Lovers, who make this collaboration come to life with their heart. The story of Botaniq as a Krug Ambassade has also started with one Krug Lover, who inspired the whole team to follow, and after 2 years of enthusiastic preparation we are proud and happy to welcome them among the Krug Family,” commented Nóra Szegedi, Moët Hennessy's Brand Manager for Central Europe, about the collaboration with BOTANIQ.

The announcement coincided with the international Single Ingredient event, which has become a tradition since 2015, where this year’s ingredient, lemon, was also presented in Hungary. Every year, Maison Krug looks for an ingredient that is easily available all over the world, but its processing makes the dishes special, symbolising the uniqueness of the chefs and the countries.

For the Krug x Lemon event, the chef of BOTANIQ Castle of Tura, György Szűcs and Richárd Farkas, creative chef of BDPST Group, jointly created a menu based on Hungarian traditions, which can also be combined with lemon. The dishes created especially for the occasion will be available in the future at the Clarisse restaurant of the castle, alongside the uniquely wide Krug selection.

When you get off the ferry at Badacsony, you hardly notice the building designed by Ferenc Callmeyer, which opened its doors as the Tátika Restaurant in 1962. Its exciting cantilevered floor hung five meters above the water, where a confectionery and bar were operating. A valuable late-modern creation, beautifully integrated
