Rm Sotheby’s puts a Taylor-Dunn Trident, a vintage electric vehicle from the ‘60s on auction.
The Taylor-Dunn model was born in southern California in the mid-1950s, running on three wheels and powered originally by an electric motor with only one horsepower. While LA’s streets today are ruled by supercars, the roads showed a very different face in the ‘60s: micro-cars like the Taylor-Dunn were commonly used for grocery store runs in suburban LA. The team at Sotheby’s has not yet unveiled the capabilities of this meticulously restored car but announced that the quirky, futuristic three-wheeler auction the week of June 23.
