Architect Petr Janda launches new project in Prague

The mission of Czech architectural firm petrjanda/brainwork aims to revitalize areas of Prague, with a focus on the current needs of the city’s inhabitants. The abandoned quay of the Czech capital has been given a new lease of life along the same lines. This time, the aim is to revitalize a brownfield site: a new urban spa, including a summer outdoor pool, could be built on the edge of the hilly Riegrovy sady urban park.

The studio’s architects are taking the initiative as residents of the park’s neighborhood. Their concept aims to bring new function and life to neglected areas of green space and to create a symbiosis with the immediate surroundings. The new development will address a major gap in the area: the planned spa complex will also focus on families and children. The architectural concept of the Rieger’s Spa will be completed with various outdoor pools, an indoor spa, a relaxation area, a restaurant, and a café. The building concept of the swimming pool fits in with and at the same time accentuates the park’s topography. The lower ground floor will house the spa, changing rooms, and supply rooms, while the upper ground floor will accommodate an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor pool with a green roof, and a restaurant.
