Danish architecture studio BIG has unveiled plans for a national concert hall, named the Vltava Philharmonic Hall, which will be built on the bank of the Vltava river in central Prague. The building will house the Prague Symphony Orchestra, the Czech Philharmonic and the music department of the Municipal Library of Prague.
The building will be characterised by four stacked, angular colonnades, which will extend in different directions and will also function as balconies, with walkways stretching upwards from them. The building will thus be an extension of the street and the Vltava Square.
