Multidimensional space in the park | Gregory Orekhov

Russian sculptor and architect Gregory Orekhov’s latest artwork mirrors the landscape of Moscow’s Malevich Park.

As part of his installation called “Black Square”, two black monoliths rise above the promenade of Malevich Park. The work reflects the natural and built environment of the park, paying homage to the pioneer avant-garde artist Kazimir Malevich, after whom the park was named. As visitors walk between the two statues, their black, opaque surface transforms into “an endless corridor of reflections” thanks to two huge mirrors made from highly polished stainless steel.
