Polish nostalgia at Lake Balaton

“We were heading south. It was the most exciting time of every year. Luggage, fixed to the top of our tiny Fiat made the car look almost as high as it was long. There were three hundred miles to drive but for us it was almost an eternity.”

Michal Solarski is a Polish photographer living in London, whose works have already been featured in the Guardian and the National Geographic. Twenty years after their family trip to Hungary, he found a blurry photo of himself and his sister standing next to each other on a pier at Lake Balaton. Then he decided to visit the Hungarian Sea once again, and also gave this name to the photography series he made there.
