19th Budapest Design Week coming in October

This year, the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office (HIPO) and the Hungarian Design Council (HDC) will organize the Budapest Design Week for the 19th time, whose curator position will be taken over by DLA architect Ferenc Sebestény from Judit Osvárt as of 2022. The event series, which will take place between 7 and 16 October 2022, will be based around the theme “Spaces of Encounters—Architecture and Design.

This is the focus of the exhibition and professional conference under the same title, as well as the Open Studios and accompanying events, all of which aim to promote a broader understanding of the interaction between architecture and design, real and virtual space, both individual and communal.

Applications are expected until 10 June, with the curator’s selection of applicants to take part in the official BDW 2022 program. More details about the event and the application process can be found on the Budapest Design Week website.
