This year, Alessi will present twelve new collections inspired by the products of Italian designer legends such as Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass and Philippe Starck.
Made mostly of stainless steel, Alessi household products have become famous for their playful design and colorful details—just think of Philippe Starck’s Juicy Salif lemon squeezer or Alessandro Mendini’s anthropomorphic corkscrew!
On the occasion of its 100th birthday, the Italian company pays tribute to its designers. They’ll debut new products every month, including never-before-seen items and reimagined versions of Alessi classics. The celebration begins with a project called Industrial Craftmanship, which revives the debut collection of Sottsass from the ’80s, Twergi. In addition to household tools reminiscent of colorful totems, wooden picture frames and corkscrews from Bortolani Becchelli Associati, Kuno Prey and Andrea Branzi are also available in the selection of Alessi.
