Ai Weiwei, the inevitable activist artist of contemporary art designed an extraordinary extension to a weekend house in New York State in collaboration with Reddymade architecture studio.
Exciting geometries and minimalist lines define the house in Salt Point, New York, which has now been extended with a hexagonal wing. In the new, sculpture-like wing, which could almost be considered as a piece of work in its own right, there are two bedrooms and a living room. The modest interior provides a sufficiently neutral space for the private art collection of the owner.
In the vicinity of the house is the building formerly used as the Artfarm gallery, which was also designed by Ai Weiwei.
