Budapest Park to re-open after record-breaking season

The Budapest concert venue attracted unprecedented crowds last year and will open its twelfth season on 27 April.

After last year’s record attendance, Budapest Park opens its twelfth season on April 27, and there’s plenty of room for another record this year as tickets are selling out at an unprecedented rate. They’re already kicking off the season with six sold-out shows, but instead of resting on their laurels, the Budapest Park team is about to make more improvements than ever.

Thanks to the long weekend on May 1st, Budapest Park will start this season with marathon opening hours. On Thursday, April 27, the season will be officially opened by the turbo-ethno octet Aurevoir. On Friday, Punnany Massif, will light up the stage, who have recently released their new album Fel Nem after a seven-year hiatus, and on Saturday, the first international act of the season, the pioneering electro swing artist Parov Stelar, will take the stage. The weekend’s finale will be served by Alvin és a Mókusok, who promise their biggest and most spectacular show to date in celebration of the band’s 30th anniversary.

In addition to music, Budapest Park will also host a wide range of other performing arts this year, in cooperation with such outstanding institutions as the Capa Center, the Ludwig Museum, the House of Music Hungary, and the Katona József Theatre. Artists from the latter are also featured in this year’s opening film, in which actors recite excerpts from song lyrics.
