Japan’s knife and razor producer company Kai Group has designed a plastic-free, disposable razor made of paper in the spirit of sustainability. During the design and development process of the paper razor concept, the brand was inspired by the traditional Japanese methods of origami as well as the waterproof properties of disposable paper spoons and milk cartons.

The head and blade of the eco-friendly razor are made of metal, while the handle is made of waterproof cardboard. To form the handle, the user has to fold a light sheet of cardboard, which is then held together by a small piece of adhesive tape that is used as a protective covering on the blade. The product will be available in numerous colors with an expected public debut of April 22, Earth Day.
