FELIX Budapest welcomes spring with the most promising Hungarian contemporary artists and a new chef

Outstanding contemporary art and gastronomic experiences at one place—we checked out what FELIX Kitchen&Bar has in store for spring!

A new exhibition in the AQVA room and a new chef in the restaurant: we can witness important changes in the life of FELIX Kitchen&Bar. The AQVA Room—which was named after the building’s Water House past and designed to allow guests to enjoy contemporary art and a show kitchen while dining—opened at the end of 2021 and features artworks of prominent Hungarian contemporary art figures. The current second exhibition, entitled I, Without a Face, reflects on the upcoming carnival season and mask-wearing, as well as on various identity issues. Among the artists you can find Zsófia Keresztes, this year’s exhibitor at the Hungarian pavilion of the Venice Biennale, Anna Hulačová, Botond Keresztesi and Gergő Szinyova with Dóra Molnár and Mónika Zsikla, who were responsible for the concept.

Life is also bustling at the restaurant: the kitchen is now run by Dániel Katona, who has returned to Hungary after a long time for the sake of the task. After studying French, Dániel worked in Spain, and not surprisingly, Hungarian, French and Mediterranean cuisine also left their mark on the menu he created.
