Hass, alkoss, gyarapíts! – this year’s Highlights of Hungary has started

The new team of Highlights of Hungary met in the framework of a cordial session on Tuesday evening, with the participation of HYPEANDHYPER – as a former candidate in 2018 and this year’s media partner. This year’s ambassadors were announced and introduced at the meeting, who will be looking for the fifty-five most prominent Hungarian creative initiatives and achievements of 2020, without categories.

Highlights starts this year’s season full steam ahead, braced with the new visual identity designed by Graphasel Design Studio – putting marker pens into the center as the main element of design. In addition to the long-standing ambassadors, new members also joined the team, and so the ten ambassadors will be the following this year: world champion handball player Noémi Háfra, TV presenter Vivien Mádai, actress Franciska Törőcsik, Pajta chef Richárd Farkas, multiple-times Fonogram and Petőfi Music award winner musician Dávid Marsalkó, József Martinkó, the editor-in-chief of Octogon magazine, music video director Miki357, Red Bull Pilvaker founder and marketing expert Ákos Takács, Levente Trellay, co-founder of Telep Gallery and Konyha, as well as the founders of the Plastic Cup non-profit organization.

“I consider it an important task of mine to promote good initiatives in Hungary within my means. It makes me glad to be part of a team where this applies to every member, and I hope we get to support and help some fantastic projects reach a broader audience.” – told us Dávid Marsalkó, multiple-times Fonogram and Petőfi Music award winner musician, debuting as a first-time ambassador this year.

Highlights of Hungary was established by Tibor Remete in 2013. Tibor also talked about their work so far at the meeting: “Over the past seven years, we worked with more than thirty ambassadors, we promoted the stories of more than four hundred candidates, and a massive community has formed around Highlights of Hungary in the meantime. This year, we would like to reach even more people with our message: Hass, alkoss, gyarapíts!”

The most important goal of this season is to recognize the most prominent Hungarian initiatives along the values of excellence, patriotism and active localism, to introduce them to a broader audience and to organize an even greater community around the creators and organizers of the same. “As part of the renewal, the most prominent candidates will also receive money prizes from this year on, and we’ll also lay a great emphasis on presenting the stories of the candidates, thus reinforcing the inspirational nature of Highlights of Hungary” – Zsanett Oláh, the CEO of Highlights of Hungary added.

The ambassadors have already started their work and will soon decide on the candidates. The same as in previous years, we can once again expect heated debates between the members this year, so that they can indeed present the fifty-five most prominent Hungarian creative achievements of the year to the audience at the end. For the first time in the history of Highlights of Hungary, the winners will also receive money prizes this year, thus supporting Hungarian businesses and initiatives.

You can learn more about the awarded projects of past years on the new website of Highlights of Hungary, and you can follow the work of the ambassadors and candidates on the Facebook and Instagram accounts of the event.
