Kimchi factory to open in Poland

Daesang Corporation, the world’s largest kimchi manufacturer, has chosen Poland as the location for its first European factory.

South Korean company Daseang is investing $11 million in the development of the Krakow facility, and will work with a Polish company specializing in fermented foods. They will be able to produce up to 3,000 tonnes of kimchi per year, which will be sold throughout Europe. Kimchi is a traditional Korean dish made from fermented vegetables such as napa cabbage and radishes.
