MOME develops business skills

The Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design places more focus on developing students’ entrepreneurial skills. The year-and-a-half program—which will be a key part of the bachelor students’ education from 2022will also cover advanced methodologies in market research, positioning and sales.

In the summer of 2021, the Foundation for Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, as the accreditor of MOME, asked the university to take steps to develop the students’ business, entrepreneurial and project management skills. “Beyond the traditionally high quality of art and design education at MOME, in the 21st century, this knowledge is also crucial for a talent to flourish,”—emphasized Gergely Böszörményi-Nagy, President of the MOME Foundation. “Our main objective is to prepare our students for employment in the creative industries, to be able to thrive as a self-employed person, a digital nomad, or as a team-player in a small or medium-sized company,”—said Rector József Fülöp.

In developing the course, MOME’s professional partner is KÜRT Academy, with many years of experience preparing business-focused educational content. The new training module, which starts in the academic year 2022, will last for three full semesters and will be compulsory for all MOME bachelor students.
