The iconic car brand held its biggest-ever convention in Hungary over the weekend, with 623 Porsches gathered in one place.
Ferry Porsche realized his dream in 1948: together with his team he created his sports car, the Porsche 356/1—marking the beginning of the Porsche success story. This year, the sports car manufacturer is hosting spectacular events around the world, and as part of this celebration, fans of the brand gathered at the Balaton Park Circuit racetrack. 623 cars came together here, representing every era of the brand, including exclusive models such as the 918 Spyder and the 911 R. In addition to the hundreds of cars, the festival was also a showcase for art and music. In addition to the 75th anniversary of Porsche sports cars, the company is celebrating three other important jubilees: the 30th birthday of Porsche Inter Auto Hungaria Kft., the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911, and the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
Charity also plays a key role in the jubilee festival. A life-size Porsche 911 model comprising 50 separate components was the subject of an extraordinary auction, a collaboration between Porsche and Youngart. Szilárd Juhász, PAF (András Ferenc Pintér), Ákos Révész, and Kamillavirág Kővári, PRIME category artists from the Youngart online gallery, have created a Gesamtkunstwerk. The artwork sold for HUF 2.1 million, and the proceeds were donated for charity to the Szintlépés Foundation, which helps children in orphanages.
