Russian architects condemn the invasion of Ukraine in an open letter

More than 6,500 Russian architects, designers and urban planners have signed an open letter condemning the invasion of Ukraine and demanding an immediate end to the violent war.

The letter states, among other things, that the invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops is unacceptable and stresses that “war cannot be an instrument of politics in the 21st century.” The joint statement also argues that “it violates the people’s right to life, security, fulfillment, a comfortable and healthy environment,”—values that lie at the core of their profession.
