SETUP

The SETUP exhibition organized by Kristóf Szabó – KristofLab examines the impacts of technology and interactivity on visual arts. The exhibition will be opened on October 11 in MAMŰ Gallery. The works of the artists featured in the exhibition have already been showcased around the world, from Tokyo to Budapest and were displayed in renowned Hungarian art centers as the Art Quarter Budapest, Ludwig Museum, Modem, Budapest Hall of Art and Trafó.

Newer and newer tendencies can be observed in the continuously spreading interactivity. We are talking about works that create a connection with the audience itself, they attract them into their own space or into the creative process. The artists do not use their bodies as a contact surface; they create the object itself in a manner to be able to do so.

EJTECH – Draping Sound

The works seen here are installations that invite the viewer in different aspects to get into contact or interaction with the object. The object of the exhibition is the artistic presentation of the tendency introduced above. Sometimes playful, at other times thought-provoking, but at all times creating a kind of contact with the visitor.

Setup, as a process of setting, is a permanent activity of ours. We fine-tune and synchronize our devices and time to our environment or situation. Our technological being defines our identity through the devices and our relationships established with them. The installations exhibited force us out from our usual contact with objects and reveal a new way of perception through art.

Veszprém 2030

Today, we got to know the new image of the Veszprém European Capital of Culture 2023 project. The quite strong professional jury had to select from highly acclaimed applicants, and, as far as I am concerned, they did not have an easy job. The applicants included de_form, Graphasel, Hidden

A Bauhaus-inspired seven-passenger car with monthly subscription? You guys know, we are in California, right? We’ll see about that, but it’s already worth having a dispute about and see how it is imagined. I think the “Bauhaus-inspired” attribute is slightly too much, but we can get past that;
