We all long for a place close to nature where we can break away from the daily grind. The latest project of the Prague-based NEW HOW architectural firm, which has been recognized with many professional awards, has achieved this at a world-class level.
The mountain chalet, built for private order, is located in Nové Hamry in the Ore Mountains, one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the Czech Republic.
Despite having three floors, the building is in complete harmony with the environment, thanks to its special angularity and elegant gray painting adapted to the color palette of the mountains. The minimalist interiors, made of wood, create a spacious yet cozy feeling. All three floors provide several functions: the top floor can be used as a studio, library and lookout tower, the second floor has a bathroom and bedroom, and the ground floor has a spacious kitchen and a living room with a fireplace. The house is also fully mechanized, the engine room is located on the basement level.
When designing the chalet, the team of NEW HOW also kept practicality in mind, so the building is perfect as a base for hikes, trips with family or friends, but also as a place for a solitary creative retreat.
