The silver shimmering Airstream has been Hanks’ faithful companion on the set since the nineties, with a number of special relics decorating the mobile home.
The actor’s Limited Excella Travel Trailer was manufactured in 1992, and Tom Hanks bought the caravan to avoid spending time on set in uncomfortable and ugly trailers. The Airstream has been a faithful companion for twenty-eight years, having been stationed at nearly twenty filming locations, all of which are remembered by the stickers on the windows. In fact, the actor signed one of the air conditioners.
The caravan will go up for auction at Bonhams on 13 August, and it is expected to fetch up to $150,000, or more than 45 million forints.
