Polish firm Frantagroup Architects has designed an unusual chair, adding a heart-shaped coaster to the classic Thonet chair.
Designed for Paged as part of the new AlterEgo collection, the chair is called Cuore because of its heart-shaped coaster and its fiery red color. “Cuore is a manifesto of love, community, interaction, connecting souls, and understanding. It is an attempt to isolate an individual in space and an encouragement to establish bonds in a relationship with another human being. Cuore works in tandem with a second chair in any configuration and various compositional relationships,” says Maciej Franta, founder of Frantagroup Architects and the chair’s chief designer.
Cuore has been designed not only for private use but also (and perhaps above all) for public use. European cafés and restaurants are seeing a trend towards minimizing the size of tables and increasing the number of chairs, and thus, as Franta explained, Cuore will be the perfect choice in such settings. It is both eye-catching in its shape and color and provides the right size of seating for guests.
