Forty young creatives will be able to participate in the camp organized by Blue Planet Climate Protection Foundation and Hello Wood for free.
Blue Planet Climate Protection Foundation and Hello Wood announced a green design camp for the 15-20 years age group. Those interested can apply by submitting a video reflecting on the experiences of the Covid-19 period, and a professional jury of three will select the forty creatives who will be invited to the camp gratuitously.
The workshops will encompass the of architecture, climate awareness, sustainable development, design, textile and fashion design, photography, animation, graphic design, short films and jewelry design. The participants of the camp to be held early August will have the chance to see what a designer does and also to try it in practice; they can participate in playful programs that also encourage actual action at the same time, building on visual and physical skills as well as knowledge about the built environment. The participants will have a chance to explore, use and develop their artistic and creative skills, and thus to get to know themselves better, too.
The video to be submitted on or before July 19 must reflect on the hardships of the past period, which allowed us to learn just how fragile the balance of human life is. The organizers would like the applicants to propose their own solutions as to how we can return to our communities after being isolated at home, how we can protect these communities by focusing on being together, and keeping the values of our environment and nature conservation in mind.

The aim of Blue Planet Climate Protection Foundation is to increase the sensitivity of Hungarian society towards our environment and the problems of sustainability, to involve local communities in searching for solutions and to establish a commitment for climate protection. To that end, the foundation places a great emphasis on promoting the establishment and development of the multi-level education of environment protection and climate change. The organization keeps the improvement of society’s eco-consciousness, the establishment of a new relationship between society and environment, the action against the impacts of climate change and the local and national community programs of adjustment in mind.
Hello Wood is a multiple times award-winning independent educational platform that has been engaged in organizing architectural and design educational programs for ten years, in addition to which it also functions as a creative studio providing space for designing small and large-scale installations and product development. Their projects have two key characteristics: they are largely made of wood, and they combine the artistic approach with social thinking. They have been organizing kids’ programs since 2007. In the course of their design-focused development programs, artists and designers leading a health-centered life work together with the children and young creatives interested in design and manual creation.
