Near the picturesque colonnades of Karlovy Vary, a historic apartment house overlooking a hillside has been renovated inside. The interior designs, which emphasize the original elements of the house, were created by the Czech team Plus One Architects. Let’s see!
During the renovation, the architects aimed to remove the structural and floor plan changes that had accumulated over time, thus recreating the building’s original atmosphere. The plans eliminated the interconnecting rooms, replacing them with a more circular layout, with two separate bedrooms and a spacious living room at the core of the house.
In the latter, the designers focused on opening up the space, with an internal window connecting the kitchen and living room. A special feature of the bedrooms is that the original wooden floors have been retained, accentuated by the original paintwork on the ceiling and walls. The spaces of the house are also characterized by minimalist materials and clean design solutions, creating a calm atmosphere.
