Krakow’s Bottiglieria 1881 managed to do what no one else in the country has done before and bagged two stars, but other Polish restaurants were also celebrating after winning the Michelin Guide Ceremony.
Never before have so many Michelin stars been awarded in Poland as this week, with more restaurants across the country cashing in on the hard work of the past year. The staff at Bottiglieria 1881 in Krakow had the most reason to celebrate, becoming the first in the country to be awarded two stars, which the restaurant guide’s critics attributed to its sophistication and originality.
Two other restaurants have also been awarded Michelin stars: Nuta in Warsaw, a surprising choice given that it has been open for less than a year. And Muga in Poznań received the city’s first gastronomic accolade of its kind. In addition to these, seven other Polish restaurants have also been awarded the Bib Gourmand, another accolade of excellence: Molám in Krakow, Fromażeria in Poznań, TU.REStAURANT in Poznań, Koneser Grill, Le Braci, Kieliszki Na Próżnej, and alewino in Warsaw. In addition, 39 other places have been added to the recommended list in the latest edition of the Michelin Guide.
