This year, the new summer collection of Budapest-based Kamayko, famous for its sustainable approach, takes us to Tel Aviv with the help of sunlit colors and swirling patterns. The collection called AVIV features mountain goats, tigers, oleanders, sea waves and references to Israeli flavors fused with pastel colors and easy-to-wear styles, typical of the brand. We attended the atmospheric collection show at Pluto Skybar.
Designer Noémi Sziládi shared that since her partner used to live in Tel Aviv, they spent much time there. This winter, she decided that she’d get inspiration from all the nice memories and visual stimulation and build her whole collection on the trips to Israel. First, she created the patterns of silk scarves that condense all the motifs and color combinations that are then repeated on the items one by one. Crop tops, loose trousers, lightweight one-piece dresses and kimono-like small jackets are all part of the new collection, complemented by ruffled scrunchies, huge totebags and embroidered baseball caps. The usual collaborations aren’t missing now, either: this time, she teamed up with SOUTERRAIN designer Réka Huszlicska, and together they dreamed up unique ceramic vases that hark back to traditional forms in a contemporary way.
