We all look forward to the next calendar year positively, hoping that it will be much better than the previous. The year 2020 was full of challenges and difficulties for the DOT for You brand as well. In spite of this, or perhaps for this very reason, the DOT for You team decided to continue making their premium quality IRKA planners, and chose “Change the rhythm!” as the motto of 2021.
The brand was launched in 2015 by Erika Baglyas, an important figure of the Hungarian visual arts scene: the brand’s iconic product, the numbered IRKA planner has been released in a different form every year since then, each time coming with a message or motto important for the brand. In previous years, the IRKA calendars were refreshed in collaboration with Benedek Timár, however, a young graphic designer Márk Levente Gelley (the member of HYPEANDHYPER’s team – the Ed.) also joined their team this year.

IRKA 2021 planner
IRKA is more than your average planner: it’s a calendar and notebook at the same time, characterized by a minimalist design and structure. It comes with a hard board, canvas cover with golden hot foil stamping, with 224 pages of 100 g premium sewn sheets and two ribbon bookmarks. IRKA is a dated planner offering a minimal framework for daily, weekly and monthly to-dos while giving plenty of room for custom display. You’ll find an annual and monthly review in the beginning, while the rest of the planner is broken down to weeks. The page pairs can be freely edited in the weekly view, and every week has an extra dotted page for notes. The second half of the planner can also be used as a notebook, as it consists of dotted pages for note-taking – giving room for your projects, lists as well as to-dos and notes not related to dates. IRKA comes with two ribbon bookmarks so that you can easily mark in both the calendar and notebook section.
This year, the IRKA planner will be available in four colors: black, raspberry, turquoise and ocher. VIENNA and BUDAPEST FIRKA bullet journal notebooks
The brand’s FIRKA notebook available with two graphics addresses the fans of bullet journaling. The journal uses FSC certified 100 g paper, comes with a hard cover and 160 sewn sheets. The FIRKA inspired by Vienna is black, while the BUDAPEST FIRKA is available in three colors: coral, bleached coral and black, in A5 size. The covers are decorated with gleaming holo-silver hot foil stamping both cases, which is a traditional bookbinding decoration technique.
