The joint work of Ila Varina and Olga Stonda is not a simple alphabet book. The Ukrainian-language publication was created as part of a social project called Maechka by Nebo Booklab publishing house with the aim of raising awareness among children about the importance of responsible pet ownership.
The story tells the adventures of a dog named Maya and her furry friends, interpreted by Ila Varina, illustrated with heartwarming drawings by Olga Stonda. The characters of dogs and cats appearing in the book were inspired one by one by stray animals that had now found a loving home.
