JUMP INTO THE FUTURE!—MOME announces a creative youth competition

Anyone can become a designer or a futurist—this is the motto of the MOME University’s new competition, which invites students from grades 7 to 10 to submit their creative ideas concerning the future.

How do young people imagine the future? What will life be like in the school of the future? What tools will help the process of learning and education? How will people study, play sports, get dressed, eat and chat with each other? What will they do during the school holidays? What professions will people work in twenty years from now? And how will our environment change?

The online creative competition UGRÁS A JÖVŐBE! (JUMP INTO THE FUTURE!) called by the Rectorate of the Moholy-Nagy University of Arts and Design (MOME) and the Design Competence Center awaits the application of 7th- to 10th-grade Hungarian students and their teachers, living either in the home country or abroad. In addition to experiencing the joy of creation and helping students to develop their creative skills, the purpose of the competition is to provide a methodological kit that helps to reinterpret the acquisition, classification, and application of knowledge, and the visual content created through the employment of new knowledge, creative thinking, and teamwork.

The projects, which must be submitted from February 1 to 28 by teams of two to five, have to include a visual composition that presents the idea well (which can be created with analog, digital or mixed media) and a frame story to support the concept. The creators of the best projects will be rewarded with Canon IVY Rec cameras, while their adult helpers will be able to choose from MOME Open courses for free.

The detailed announcement of the contest and the registration page can be found here, in Hungarian: mome.hu/hu/ugrasajovobe
