The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency and the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design opened Europe’s fifth material library, the first of its kind in the region. The gap-filling Budapest Design Material Library will bring together the latest and most innovative material samples from around the world and make them widely available.
The ever-expanding collection and the online database available on site provide an opportunity to explore the innovative uses of a wide variety of material samples, as well as a chance to connect design and other industries. Among the 300 samples currently in stock, we can find materials created through Hungarian innovation, such as the textile, which functions as a sound-emitting material, developed by Judit Eszter Kárpáti and Esteban de la Torre, researchers at the MOME Innovation Centre.
