French fashion designer Thierry Mugler has died

French fashion designer Thierry Mugler, a prominent figure in the power dressing movement of the 1980s, has passed away at the age of 73—the news was announced on Mugler’s Instagram.

Known for his extravagant pieces, the designer’s clothes have been worn by David Bowie, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé. He designed the outfits for George Michael’s Too Funky music video, as well as Kim Kardashian’s famous wet look dress, which she wore to the 2019 Met Gala. One of the world’s best-selling perfumes, Angel, is also credited to him.
