KIKAPCS. Foundation is working with some of the coolest places in Budapest to make March 10 the World Day for Children with Special Educational Needs.
10 March in downtown Budapest will be largely about children with special needs and their families. KIKAPCS. Foundation has brought together 28 Budapest restaurants, sports centers, and other brands to help give gifts to these often struggling families. All the places participating in the program support the Foundation’s work and have donated part or all of their proceeds for the day.
The mission of the KIKAPCS. foundation is to provide recreation for children with special needs and their families through discounted vacations, volunteer opportunities, and monthly community programs. This is their way of ensuring that families with children with special needs (CSN) can enjoy life-changing experiences. CSN is an umbrella term under which several statuses fall, such as visual impairment, hearing impairment, mobility impairment, intellectual disability, and neurodevelopmental disorders (autism, ADHD). For all these reasons, the symbol of KIKAPCS. for this day is an umbrella, as this umbrella represents a safety net where everyone can find common ground, whatever their CSN status.
For those who can, visit the following places on 10 March and have a good meal or do some shopping for the benefit of families with CSN:
