With electric cars gaining ground, many have begun to worry that silent vehicles will be dangerous and won’t provide the same experience as their fossil-fueled counterparts. The new BMW model is now in the limelight, as it will be exceptional not only regarding its technical equipment but also its sound.
German film score composer Hans Zimmer is associated with many success stories, including the music of Gladiator, The Lion King, Interstellar and Inception. BMW didn’t want to draw a blank and commissioned the best to create the sound of the new electric BMW iX. The special sound effects will pour out from 24 speakers.
“It doesn’t recreate the sound of the engine. It’s really a completely new symphony.”explained Domagoj Dukec, BMW’s head of design.
