The Builder Summit, a special architect school supported by the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture, will take place between 6 and 15 July in the post-apocalyptic basalt quarry of Zalahaláp.
More than 200 participants will take part in the summer school, while more than 1,000 visitors are expected to attend the closing music festival. The event will be joined by international design superstars such as Karim Rashid and Arthur Mamou-Mani, known for his iconic installations for Burning Man festivals.
A unique community experience that goes beyond traditional summer camps, the Hello Wood Builder Summit invites participants to learn the philosophy of “learning by doing” and to create and discover together.
This year’s event will explore the links between intervention and naturalness, demolition and construction, and scarcity and expansion, to reflect on the ecological conditions in the region and raise awareness of the human–environment–future relationship.
Hello Wood Builder Summit welcomes applications from students and team leaders across the world.
