The website made with educational purposes offers a fascinating way to introduce kids to the works of art of the Slovak National Gallery: the funny and lovable character of Professor Hamster and the captivating stories entertain both children and adults.

IDENTITY

Ombudsman’s Office
Andrej & AndrejAndrej Barčák, Andrej Čanecký

How can the activity of the ombudsman be expressed in a visual form? Designer duo Andrej & Andrej captured the mission of the officers examining citizens’ complaints in a clean yet expressive visual identity, featuring an exclamation mark, of course.

Ivana Palečková

Fest Anča’s 2018 campaign displays the archetypical tools of animation in bright, vivid colors, with an eye-catching design.

The activity of Čierne diery is notable in itself: all of their publications focusing on the architectural heritage of Slovakia are exciting, high quality and gap filling both in terms of content and design.

NEW HORIZONS

Critical Daily – Critical practice in graphic design
Katarína Balážiková

The English website is not only worth visiting for representatives of the graphic design scene. In addition to featuring fascinating topics, the website offers an exciting user experience to those interested in graphic design: the CriticalMeter is our absolute favorite.

Juniperus borovička

TYPEFACE DESIGN

Manual
Ondrej Jób

The street signs of Slovakia’s public spaces painted in their national colors have been dominant elements of the streetscape since the fifties. The originally hand-drawn typeface was digitalized by graphic designer Ondrej Jób, thus preserving the Manual Grotesk font and its legacy for posterity.

POSTER AND VISUALS

„Courage and risk. 100 years of design in the Museum of Applied Arts”
Deep Throat StudioJozef Ondrík, Matúš Buranovský

The studio operating in the Czech capital not only raises attention with their name, but their unique perspective, too – and they did exactly the same in the case of the poster made for the Museum of Applied Arts in Prague: it is unorthodox and brave yet easy to read, thus making a perfect match for the exhibition.

SPATIAL COMMUNICATION

Livre Paris 2019. Slovak stand at the Paris International Book Fair
Ateliér Choma – Pavel Choma, Martin Kubina, Ové Pictures – Michaela Čopíková, Veronika Obertová

The Slovaks owe a tasteful and functional stand to the designers of Atelier Choma and Ové Pictures: the screen floating above the heads of visitors portraying a circular ribbon displays various animated content related to contemporary literature.

STUDENT DESIGN

Czemoji. Czech emoticons
