House of Music wins a prestigious award over Game of Thrones

The House of Music Hungary, which has already won several awards in the past, won in one of the main categories of the World Travel Awards, also known as “the tourism industry’s Oscars.”

The best of the world’s travel and tourism sector were announced at the World Travel Awards in Mallorca on 1 October. Every year since 1993, the World Travel Awards have been selecting the best and most innovative solutions in the tourism sector, and this year’s nominations came from all over the world. The House of Music Hungary competed in the category of Europe’s Leading New Tourist Attraction, beating out the Game of Thrones Museum in Northern Ireland, the Hans Christian Andersen House in Denmark, the cable car on Croatia’s Sljeme Hill, and the Humboldt Forum in central Berlin.

Designed by Sou Fujimoto, the building has already been awarded several times: it was named Best Public Building in Europe in 2019, and shortly afterwards it was voted the Best International Public Building at the International Property Awards. In 2020, it was named the world’s best music-oriented property development at the Music Cities Awards, and in 2022, it won the Grand Jury Prize at the MIPIM, the most important event in the real estate industry.
